Last Summer

Last summer my family and I went back to Bangladesh, where most of our family is ^^

Nil Giri (roughly translated Blue Mountain) is one of the world’s tallest mountains…Except no one in the world knows about it. It is completely Government Army regulated. No one without someone high up in the army can go there. Luckily for me my uncle is a General.

It’s absolutely beautiful, both the indigenous people who live there and the nature. Being there it feels like all of civilization doesn’t exist. Growing in NYC my whole life I was amazed at the feeling of peace and tranquility. At night we could hear monkeys and other animals. It’s very very high up… In the morning my mother and I heard the sound of rain, like freak thunder storm rain, we both rushed inside but when I looked out the sky was a perfect blue…. Only I could still hear the noise. So I go outside and look around….NOTHING. Then I look down there are clouds covering my view of the bottom then one of the cloud moves and I see rain falling down from it. The bungalow (which is where we were staying) was on top of the mountain, It was so high that we were above the clouds and rain was falling down from under us o.O

Anyways I wanted to share the pictures I took with you guys :]
I really hope that the Bengali government makes it public but the I can understand why they didn't.. If they were to turn Nil Giri into a tourist spot then the very essence of the place would be destroyed. Being there feels really like your letting go of yourself.
